My name is Karson Moore and I am\u00a0a graduate student, wife, Disney-enthusiast, dog-mom, and 23-year-old living with Ulcerative Colitis. I was diagnosed three and a half years ago,\u00a0and I fully expected this disease to ruin my life. Check out my health journey\u00a0to read the full story. Before my diagnosis I was incredibly active and involved in both my school and community. Once I began having symptoms, everything changed. After months of intense pain, nausea, fatigue, embarrassing symptoms, and dietary restrictions (no dairy, no refined sugar, no gluten, no raw vegetables, very few fruits) I began\u00a0searching for any way to get my life back.<\/p>\n
After reading several paleo\/AIP success stories, I completely changed my diet and lifestyle. I adjusted paleo guidelines for my body, and combined information on holistic living with traditional medication. Healing is still a\u00a0process, but I have been\u00a0in\u00a0remission for over\u00a0two years!\u00a0I am still learning\u00a0how to best implement a paleo lifestyle, but I hope the knowledge I have gained and the information I learn in the future can be used to help others better understand how to combat the inflammation in\u00a0chronic illness with diet. I now know\u00a0my life is so much more than this diagnosis and I hope to help others have the same realization.<\/p>\n
